Baby care through stimulation

So what is happening with your baby's brain? While you care for your baby, his or her cognitive development is something that you need to be cognizant of. Your Baby care skills also should include your constant observation of what skills your baby should develop and at what stage.

What does cognitive development means anyhow? This basically refers to the mental capacity of the baby to cope with his environment as he grows, in other words, all the brain activity taking place as the baby interacts with the environment. Here your wonderful bundle of joy is forming his personality.

Here, also enters the age old debate of what shapes our personality. Is it that it is our genetics? Or, is it the environment? It is said that we are born as blank slates and that it is our interaction with our environment that shapes us. There has long been the age old theory of nature versus nurture. Is it nature or nurture that contributes our personality? I do believe it is a contribution of both. Hence, remember that your baby needs to be cared for properly. It is not just about the physical but the cognitive and social too.You need to pass on the good values.

According to Jean Piaget a well known psychologist infancy is the sensory motor stage. Baby needs to be stimulated in a positive way. Learning will now take place via the mouth. Alarm bells should be going off as it means you have to be extra careful as baby will be reaching for everything to put into the mouth.

Reading i must say is an extremely important part in your baby's cognitive development at this time. Your baby needs to be  stimulated. Show him some nice bright colored pictures and also reading is an extremely good activity to do with your baby. Talk to your baby. Well you might be thinking that you cannot do this, but, just talk about everything that you are doing and believe me your baby will enjoy this. The baby will enjoy hearing the sound of your voice. Take your time to know your baby. Baby care is not as hard as it looks, or sound, just take it one day at a time.

Baby Care Products

So what kind of products do you use on your baby? Oftentimes new parents think that they need all those fancy products for their baby to smell good, but, my advise to you is don't go using any fancy products just yet. The baby's skin is delicate and hence you have to take your time in introducing especially scented products. Some examples of the baby care products of which i speak is that of the oils, lotions, soaps, powder. Just a little soap will do with some natural oils. Powders  in particular may pose as an irritant and cause allergy. These are items that it is advised that it is best introduced one at a time and also not when the baby is too young. So it is best to start of with some unscented items. You can also consider organic natural care products. The right product is out there for your baby just shop around.

Diaper Care

As we look at baby care, by now you must realize that there is a whole lot involved in baby care. So let us look at the care of the bottoms. The decision you have to make is should you use cloth diapers or brand name manufactured diapers. Well I must say the decision is entirely up to you whether you use cloth or disposable. To me there is no major difference really. Although, my baby has so far used only the disposable as the washing would be a bit much for me. Which ever type you choose though you should stock up so you have always have at hand.

Everyday Baby Care

Here is a baby sleep solution for all you new parents. If your baby if having difficulty falling asleep here is something you can try The Baby Sleep Solution Audio Program Your baby can sleep through the night - Every Night ... Guaranteed! Here are some testimonies from persons who have used The Baby Sleep Solution Audio Program

“She was sleeping through by the third night. Bliss!”

Dear Chris,
The [........] technique worked best for us. We had two sleep issues to deal with – settling to sleep at the start of the night, and settling back to sleep without a feed during the night. Both issues associated with feeding but that technique worked for both.
It took our daughter one night to learn that she could settle herself to sleep after the usual routine. It took a little longer for her to get used to not having a feed at night, but she was sleeping through by the third night. Bliss! (Although she sometimes still wakes up in the small hours and sings and babbles to herself she no longer cries for a feed.)
I loved the format of the audio book. It’s nice and short so it’s easy to get through. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head with that – the last thing I wanted to do was trawl through lots of pages on why babies have sleep problems and case studies.
Thank you so much!
With best wishes,
Jo

“Baby Sleep Solution audio is great”

I think your Baby Sleep Solution audio is great. Your tone is extremely calm, clear and confident. I have done quite a bit of research on sleep problems myself and found all the most useful tips in your audio, plus several more. Books seem to recommend one or two techniques, but you have offered so many that everyone should be able to find a solution.
My partner Neal downloaded the audio, so I hadn’t seen the ‘waking in the night’ bonus track, as he had missed it, but that seems to be just what we need! I hadn’t considered the idea of Jacob not getting enough sleep in the day as a cause for him not sleeping at night, so will start with keeping to a more regular time for his afternoon nap and making sure that it’s long enough every day. Thanks again.

Baby care through TLC

Caring for a baby at first can be a very tedious task but by now you must be getting the hang of it. Remember to make sure that baby is getting all the shots he should be getting, this is very important so check with your pediatrician to make sure you are right on track.  You now have to get to know your baby, like why is your baby crying and how to be there for him. Your baby could be crying for many reason such as :

  • baby maybe hungry
  • baby may need changing
  • baby may have gas which is causing a tummy ache and just think of yourself how uncomfortable this can be
  • it probably may be as simple as the baby needs to be burped, so make sure to burp after feeding.
It could be just that baby just  needs some comfort, a little TLC perhaps. However, if baby is still crying you should seeks medical attention. For more information go here

Baby care through breast feeding

How else to show how you care about your babies mothers than to breast feed. Breast feeding is the most wonderful thing as this is where the bonding begins with mother and baby. This type of baby care is VERY important as this just a magical experience. It can be a bit challenging at first to get the baby to latch on the nipple, for some persons, this just takes a little bit of practice. As i said before this is just a magical period ENJOY !
